sex and glue - friday december 19 - phoenix bar/party pit

SEX AND GLUE / PHOENIX BAR FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY

FRIDAY DECEMBER 19 / DOORS 9PM

$4 BEERS / $5 SPIRITS / $5 CHAMPAGNES ALL NIGHT

BEST FRIENDS REUNION / PAT ELLIS / LUKEWARM / NICKLEZ & DIMEZ / SONIK

$10 ENTRY / GET THERE BEFORE THE 2AM LOCKOUT

All I've heard over the last 12 months or so was how good the old Phoenix days were. Probably a fairly esoteric thing to say straight off the bat but bare with me. The Phoenix days were pretty fucking raging and in my efforts to never let you down (ever, EVER!) I'm going out on a limb to give you what you want - SEX AND GLUE AT PHOENIX. Sure, we are normally at Oxford Arts but we got bumped off our night this month (ironically by The Brag Xmas Party - I hope we get a discount this issue...) but we moved and shaked and kept the party going. So if you you want to be a part of this little bit of history make sure you get down this Friday night to share this special moment. We even have a special surprise for you all - THE BEST FRIENDS REUNION. Joining those old boys are our other old boys including PAT ELLIS, LUKEWARM, NICKLES AND DIMES and SONIK. If you didn't know our vibe before I'm sure you do now. We have sorted you out for drinks as well with $4 BEERS, $5 SPIRITS and $5 CHAMPAGNES ALL NIGHT. Entry is a measly $10 and doors are at 9PM. Don't leave your bolt for too late though cause of that whole 2am lockout bullshit. Check out MYSPACE.COM/SEXANDGLUE and UPTOOURHIPS.COM for EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING!

This night is going to be massive for a whole bunch of reasons so do try get down relatively early to avoid missing out due to the lockout. That would really suck. Any questions hit me up.

xoxo db

$4 TAP BEERS / $5 VODKAS & BOURBONS / ENTRY $10 OR $5 ON A GUESTLIST

THE RANT:

SEX AND GLUE is on a Friday this week. Forgive the change up but our hands were tied so we decided to just focus on what we do best - hosting a raging party.

All your favourite bits will still be there. The cheap drinks, the drunk DJ's getting a little too loose with the basic rules of a party-punk soundtrack, the films on the big screen, the massive posters that make you say "oh no they didn't", the cute kids and the late night romeo and juliets.

Your old favourites will be back to get things moving and shaking and bouncing and breaking. Australia's Number One (ANO) MARKC, NICKLEZ "look at my new haircut" & DIMEZ and LUKE "Don't I know you from Myspace?" WARM will be there for your request-hassling pleasure. Closing the night up will be a brand new DJ crew we found trolling the strip a few weeks ago (them, not us). They said "We're the HETERO LIFE PARTNERS, give us a set". We said "Buy us a drink and you can get whatever you want" so here we are. They better not ruin the club.

seven seven seven/retreat after party - september 26 - club 77

SEVEN SEVEN SEVEN is new club by us UP TO OUR HIPSTERS (oh no, we didn't just say that) that is for for those who like to hang out and listen to some good music and get drunk and chill. It is a bit more laid back than our other efforts but we think you'll enjoy it. The music is a mix of rock and pop and jazz and punk and really anything from the 1950's up until the 80's or so, and then bits and pieces of other stuff we like.

It is down at Club 77 on William St, #77 William St actually.

THE RETREAT guys and girls will be heading down after to drop a little dj set so come down and say hello and take it easy. It is only $5 entry with your stamp from Spectrum, or $10 otherwise.

on august 17 the retreat played a show at the factory theatre in enmore with horsell common, the mission in motion and bleached academy. it was for an under 18's initiative called ACCESS ALL AGES.

basically we all had a great time and the dudes at moshcam filmed the show. we got the dvd back the other day and you can watch all the videos on moshcam.com if you search 'the retreat'. sorry for lack of direct link but it doesn't seem to want to work.

here is the retreat performing "i've got the best kinda friends"
