seven seven seven is back, for one night only

On Sunday October 4, SEVEN SEVEN SEVEN will be summoned from the nightclub graveyard and take over Spectrum for the spectacular long weekend party send off the old girl never received.

For those that missed out, SEVEN SEVEN SEVEN was pretty much a kind of chill but fun night out (or depending on your circumstances it could be a complete rager). The idea was to sidestep the blog music scene and get back to basics with great tracks from 50's till the early 90's or so that actually pick you up off your chair or your corner of the bar and start doing the dancing for you. It was a shit load of fun.

It was buried about 12 months ago but we thought it was time to maybe get Weekend At Bernie's on her and give her one last spin around the dancefloor. This time round we are bringing bands into the equation, with BORDER THIEVES, VIRGO RISING, POCKETS and PAPER MOON playing across the evening before we clear the stage and get a whole lotta shaking going on.

Guest DJs for the night include the MEWBURN J. GIRLS DJs, the washed up boys from SAILMAKER (new EP 'BEG' out now) with the always reliable, recognisable and ravishing UP TO OUR HIPS DJs making up the numbers and filling in the blanks.

Things kick off at 8pm, bands start 830 and you no doubt can at least guess how it plays out from there. Get ready to see our Spectrum renovations - you wouldn't recognise the place. As usual for HIPS events, it'll be cheap drinks and good times for the entire evening.

This Friday we are bringing SEX & GLUE back with a new venue, new artwork, new drink specials and new level of rage.

The debauchery of SEX & GLUE in Oxford Arts will now be concentrated into a venue a quarter of the size and a ceiling half as high which essentially results in ten times as much party.

Your favourite DJs from UP TO OUR HIPS [and other popular clubs somewhat of this style] are champing at the bit to play all your favourite pop-punk tracks in our purpose built CAVE RAVE.
